Democratic presidential candidate Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton joined our own Lisanne Anderson via satellite this morning on First News AM.

On her health care initiative….

“I’ve done a lot of work on rural health care, starting in Arkansas all those years ago, and what I’m going to do is provide quality, affordable health care to every single person in America.”

“I’m going to take my record of bringing health care to rural Arkansas and rural New York, and we’re going to bring it to Sherman and rural Texas.”

On the war in Iraq….

“It’s going to take a president who is will start bringing them home within 60 days, which is what I’ve pledged to do. I think it’s one of the reasons why I won Oklahoma overwhelmingly. Oklahomans, like north central Texans, are patriotic people, lots of folks who are in the service or have been in the service. You’ve done everything you were asked to do. You’ve performed admirably, heroically. We’ve lost too many of our sons and daughters, but there is no military solution, it is up to the Iraqis, and the sooner we make them responsible, the better off they will be.”

On 'Get Out the Vote'...

“I feel good about the campaign. We’ve got people working across Texas. Everybody does have to get out, and it’s a two-step process. You’ve got to vote and go to the conventions, and I appreciate your vote.”

KXII-TV has extended invitations to Barack Obama, John McCain, and Mike Huckabee to join us to discuss the issues. We will try to interview all those candidates as the race continues.

To Anonymous Overseas...perhaps you need the history lesson. I believe Roosevelt along with an actual Declaration of war by Congress, and the courage of our military took care the Japanese. In fact, that was the last time we fought in a declared war, and the last time we attacked a country that had attacked us. Iraq did not attack the US. Neither did Korea, North Viet Nam, Greneda, etc etc. On 9-11 we were attacked by a bunch of religious zealots, and they didn't come from Iraq. We have spent far more $ and time in Iraq than we did in all of WWII! Not withstanding the BS that got us into Iraq, our forces overwhelmed their army and we got rid of Hussien. THOSE were the stated objectives going in. WE WON! We don't need to stick around, and make Iraq the 51st state. They have had over 4yrs to get their S#%^ together, there's another 10 months before our new Pres is sworn in, and it will take another yr to withdraw. The Iraqis need to get the message, not 100 yrs of occupation.

Opinionated in Ardmore - you mean the economy is getting worse because my husband and I BOTH work a full and a part time job? Just think - I thought working our @sses off was 'doing what it takes' to get ahead. We make too much for any kind of help, not enough to not worry about $3 a gallon gas - rising grocery prices - and tuition for our kids. Let's see - because McCain was a POW, we have freedom of speech. He must be older than I thought. I thought we had the freedom of free speech because of the constitution. The statement “they want to penalize those who do by taxing them unfairly” is the biggest crock of all. Everyone should pay the same percentage of tax on what they make – that is only fair. You have the right to own opinion - as ridiculous as it is - in my opinion.

Posted by: Opinionated Location: Ardmore on Mar 6, 2008 at 11:32 AM
To ME in Sherman: The poor get poorer because they don't want to do what it takes to get ahead. That is why they like democrats in power. Because democrats want to give them money for doing nothing. And they want to penalize those who do by taxing them unfairly. Republicans want them to work for their money. And just remeber that if it weren't for people like McCain, you wouldn't have the right to voice your opinion like you do.

Under the first Bush the rich got richer and the poor got very poor. We all remember the bad recession we had his last year in office. Now under the second Bush he has put this country into poverty with his national debt. He has made the rich so wealthy that they are looking for places to hide their money. He has lowered the middle class to the working poor class. The poor have move to the poverty level. Also just like dad he has pushed us into a recession and who knows where it will bottom out at. Depression ??? All of you people who plan to vote republican need to ask yourself if you are better off now than 8 years ago. I will bet the answer is no. I WILL NEVER VOTE REPUBLICAN AGAIN.

To I care in Sherman... I checked out the website you cited. It appears to indicate the stupid falsehoods that have been spread about Obama being a Muslim, being sworn in using the Quran etc. are marked with a red dot (meaning FALSE). The one about him being pictured not saluting the flag is marked with a green dot (meaning True). If THAT is what concerns you, be advised, that standing respectfully with out hand over heart has always been a perfectly acceptable posture during the playing of our National Anthem. Re: your Bible warning, the books of the Bible were written by people who were living in the area to which WE refer to as the "EAST". East of there might be India, east of there, Japan, east of there, California. In other words, every place is east of somewhere. You are mingling American 21st century perspective with ancient religious text just to support your political preferences. By the way, I've read the Bible, but I must have missed the part about true Americans.

Hillary and Obama neither one will win. Just because she got the votes for Texas yesterday doesn't mean a think not everyone voted yesterday, just wait until Novemeber

The people who dont know WHAT this war is about, you are the scarriest of all. It is not just a war, this is a war for our very existance.Obama or Hillary can not, nor will they pull our troops out in 60 days.Which is a misleading statement in itself. They know what you ,the uninformed, want to hear, but even they know that we have to win this war.Obama doesnt have a clue what to do about anything, he is just a speech maker. Two years in the Senate. What is he qualified to do ? has he been a governor? No, has he been a mayor?no,has he been the head of a big corporation?no,so where does he get this experience I hear about? Do you really want a gas station attendant(oh yea their extinct) running the most powerful country in the world? He has to make decisions and make deals with people that dont like us and never will and are bound by their Bible to kill us,dont forget the RUSSIANS.Listen to your candidates REAL carefully.baby arm

From the East doesn't mean Hawaii or Kenya. read the bible again. He will rise in the Eastern Countries. So that means he will not be born in the USA, come on people. Go Hillary.

Posted by: I care Location: Sherman on Mar 5, 2008 at 03:32 PM
Please go to www.snopes.com and read the facts about Obama before you throw Hilary under the bus. The bible warns us that a man from the East will be charismatic in nature and have proposed solutions for all of us and his rhetoric will attract many supporters. But when he has control, he will destroy every true American. Read the facts people!!! Read the bible instead of throwing it out the door.

I am so disappointed that people are so negative about the candidates and election process. Disappointed that people are talking taxes instead of taking care of our elderly and young. We can have a balanced budget, we can have healthcare, we can have respresentation. We have to be active and reasonable. Research important issues instead of rumors and trash talk. There is a reason that Hillary talks about solutions, it's because she has them. She also is capable of following through. "Vote American" is right. We aren't voting for 'american idol'. We are voting President of one of the most powerful nations in the world. Hillary Clinton can and will get it done.. without ripping anyone off and with compassion for people. Taxes are high but spending appropriately we can improve our lives without increasing taxes.

I love Obama...he brings change to the table! We do not need another Republican in office. The poor get poorer and the rich get richer. Obama is young and I think will do the best job. Hilary is just a stuck up you know what! I will not vote at all if it is Hilary and McCain! McCain is wayyy too old!

Posted by: Opinionated Location: Ardmore on Mar 5, 2008 at 08:32 AM
And what they conveniently leave out is that they can’t bring those troops home and they know it. They just depend on the ignorant masses to bite their bait. Are you of the masses? And did you check out the site for the Fair Tax? Just read it. I'm calling you out on it.

Posted by: Opinionated Location: Ardmore on Mar 5, 2008 at 08:31 AM
Getting rid of the IRS is a good thing. They are nothing more than loan shark thugs. And you need to learn something about the Federal Reserve. They do nothing more than look at numbers and guesstimate. Pulling out of the UN would be one of the best things for the U.S. Not to mention, save us trillions each year to a worthless organization. To an extent, we do need to pull back and regroup. Get our resources straightened out. And if you democrats will let President Bush do his job and quit belly aching when he inconveniences or disrupts terrorist activities, then we won’t have another “Pearl Harbor”. We already had one because clinton didn’t do his job. It was called September 11, 2001! And you can’t have a president that is anti-military!! It’s like a teacher that hates kids. It won’t work! If either clinton or obama get in, expect taxes to skyrocket along with gas prices still being high.

anonymous service member- McCain is going to keep us in war. How are you guys going to come home then? We need a leader and none of the front running candidates are what we need. It's all going to s#*! anyway. Just think, McCain is ready for 100 more years of war. That sure is a long stay...

Thanks KXII for having Hillary on,although I am a Republican, we need to see these people in our area just to feel like were part of this election.I appreciate your work and getting a candidate on the air in N.Texas.

Some of you need a history class, (no where to go but up) and (look what Clinton did for us) please first of all I am a service member in the Armed Forces 14 years if Clinton had done his job 9-11 would not have happened he had Bin Laden, and Bush is the only one in the last 100 years to go to war with a country that attacked us. We need to think of our country, not sex, or gender no i don't like Hillary our Military would go to S%&! and Barrack dont get me started. belive me no one wants to come home more than we do, but if we are it needs to be done right, not in two weeks. McCain spent 8 years as a POW and could have left at 5 years he would not leave his men THAT IS A LEADER AND THAT IS WHAT WE NEED

hey Mr X. you are full of FAIL. revolutiongirl is fill of WIN. i thing Ron Paul will do is get rid of the Federal Reserve, and re-establish GOLD as the substance that should be backing our US Dollar, the Federal Reserve is a PRIVATE BANK and is not part of the Federal Government. in 1932, when our money was still packed by gold, you could get an ounce of gold for $20. Now you need $1000 to get the same amount of gold. What this means to the average hillbilly around here is that thier DOLLAR that they work so hard for is worth 2 pennies compared to what it was worth in 1932. 2 pennies. if Ron Paul was president, we'd have gold based US currency. in 2002, gold was worth $250/ounce. now, 6 years later, it is worth 4 times that. YOUR DOLLAR SHOULD BE WORTH A 4 DOLLAR BILL. but instead it's worth 2 cents. THE PIRATES ARE PILLAGING OUR BOOTY

Posted by: bill on Mar 4, 2008 at 06:48 PM
As long as a democrat doesn't win I will vote for whoever, can't have liberals running this country or we are in BIG trouble.

Bobby Kennedy called, "ripples of hope all around the world." Something happened when a bunch of women decided they were going to walk instead of ride the bus after a long day of doing somebody else's laundry, looking after somebody else's children. "When (black) men who had PhD's decided 'that's enough' and 'we're going to stand up for our dignity,' that sent a shout across oceans so that my grandfather began to imagine something different for his son. His son, who grew up herding goats in a small village in Africa could suddenly set his sights a little higher and believe that maybe a black man in this world had a chance. "So the Kennedy's decided we're going to do an airlift. We're going to go to Africa and start bringing young Africans over to this country and give them scholarships to study so they can learn what a wonderful country America is. "This young man named Barack Obama got one of those tickets and came over to this country. He met this woman whose great great-great-great- grandfather had owned slaves; but she had a good idea there was some craziness going on because they looked at each other and they decided that we know that, (in) the world as it has been, it might not be possible for us to get together and have a child. There was something stirring across the country because of what happened in Selma , Alabama , because some folks are willing to march across a bridge. So they got together and Barack Obama Jr. Was born. So don't tell me I don't have a claim

Say What, Barrack? By Paul R. Hollrah Tuning in to C-Span recently, I found myself listening to a speech by Senator Barrack Hussein Obama, Jr. He was standing in the pulpit of a black church in Selma , Alabama , and as I studied the body language of the dozen or so black ministers standing behind the senator, I couldn't help but be reminded of the little head-bobbing dolls that people used to place in the rear windows of their 1957 Chevrolets. If their reactions are any indication, the new "Schlickmeister" of the Democrat Party is actually a pretty accomplished public speaker. However, as he spoke, I found my b.s. alarm going off, repeatedly. But I couldn't quite figure out why until I actually read excerpts of his speech several days later. Here's part of what he said: "...something happened back here in Selma , Alabama . Something happened in Birmingham that sent out what Bobby Kennedy called, "ripples of hope all around the world." Something happened when

Posted by: Mr. X Location: North Texas on Mar 4, 2008 at 12:03 PM
Opinionated, lets take a look at the Ron Paul issues that I have a problem with shall we. 1. Getting rid of the federal reserve, and the IRS. With this inflation will kill the dollar. 2. Pulling out of the UN to stop us from going to war. That is exactly what they want to hear in Darfur. He wants to cluster us back to pre-WWII where we are all that matters and no one else. The day that happens is the day an other Pearl Harbor happens. Open your eyes people don't vote for a canidate who's ideas will only lead to the down fall of our great nation.

it doesn't matter who wins the presidency the middle class always gets screwed..who do you think keeps the US a float its the middle class we pay for everything and do all the work we are the back bone ...so i think if you want a good president lets get some nick nobody from the middle class so he or she can do things for the real patriots of the United States of America

Posted by: Thelma Location: Sherman on Mar 4, 2008 at 08:27 AM
Like or dislike Clinton and Obama, one of them will be in the Whitehouse this year. So get used to it. Clinton got my vote this last week during early voting. However if Obama gets it at least it's a Democrat. Can I get an AMEN....:-)

Posted by: Opinionated Location: Ardmore on Mar 4, 2008 at 08:14 AM
I voted for Huckabee. Mr. X, why is Ron Paul a fruitcake because he wants to get rid of the IRS. I think it's a good idea. Have you people ever heard of the Fair Tax proposition? It will do away with the IRS and capital gains. Check it out. http://www.fairtax.org/site/PageServer

Posted by: Serena Location: Denison on Mar 4, 2008 at 07:07 AM
I am definetely a Huckabee supporter, but I can tell you for sure that if I were voting Democrat.. I would vote for Hillary Clinton. Barack Obama is nothing but a liar who tries to make us think he's somebody great. By the way, I don't want either of them for President. I will most definetely support Mike Huckabee. He has not engaged in any kind of "dirty Politics" and is a man of his word. I also believe in him for his record and because his convictions and beliefs are the same as mine.

Posted by: Ralph Location: Denison on Mar 4, 2008 at 12:05 AM
Ok "Concerned", it's safe to remove the aluminum foil now. With so many logical and worthy arguments available to support just about any political position, why resort to spreading blatantly false Quran stories about Obama? The fact that you and those who think(?) like you won't accept the truth, makes even your somewhat sober comments lose their lustre. Furthermore, standing quietly and respectfully at the playing of our National Anthem or duirng a presentation of the Stars and Stripes, is perfectly acceptable and in keeping with patriotic standards of conduct.

Posted by: Mr. X Location: North Texas on Mar 3, 2008 at 09:57 PM
revolutiongirl, please, please tell me one good thing that would happen if Ron Paul was president. You might find that question hard to answer. I am not voting for Hillary. As somebody else stated they didn't like her as first lady(I think she actually ran that white house). However, I see no problem with her on KXII. At lest one canidate is speaking to the small town people. Just FYI I'm glad the "puppets" as you so put it are rigging the election to keep that fruit cake Ron Paul out of Washington.

Posted by: revolutiongirl on Mar 3, 2008 at 09:51 PM
Mom - I voice my opinion and you tell me not to vote? You have dumb advice and you can stick it. You may have eyes and still be unable to see, you may have ears and still be unable to hear... de·moc·ra·cy government by the people; a form of government in which the supreme power is vested in the people and exercised directly by them or by their elected agents under a free electoral system. Go to youtube and watch the video: Proof of voter fraud in the USA -from the horse's mouth. This is the computer programmer on trial for making the program that flips the votes to fix the election. So, why don't you listen to him tell what happened. Then, maybe you will still believe in democracy. lol.

If people would just stop arguing and saying how much they like or dislike the candidates, our country would be more united. I am sick of all the Hillary bashing, the fake Obama rumors, and especially the suggestion that John McCain is not an American hero. Come on people, remember that this is for the future of our country, we are not choosing the next American Idol.

They will put whoever they want in, just as they did in the Bush takeover. Most Americans believe the media's lies and propaganda. I would never have the courage to tell anyone I voted for either Hillary or McCain. The ignorance will keep us in the mess they have created. So, enjoy.

I applaud KXII fo being able to schedule a presidential candidate at all. No one with sense believes that all 3 major contenders would be on a small city show. I'm probably not voting for her, but it was nice to see someone take the time to come to be seen in our area. Get educated, people. Many of you hate candidates for bogus reasons. She may not have the greatest social skills, but she is qualified, intelligent, and hard working...and what bozo thinks a woman won't ever be president? Women have ruled all over the world. Could it be a case of little man syndrome?

I have no problem with Hillary. I do have a problem with how much money we are spending on the war. You people who are so worried about your tax dollars need to ask yourself how we are going to pay back the loans, and what have we got to show for it.

In addition, the Federal Reserve, our central bank, fosters runaway debt by increasing the money supply — making each dollar in your pocket worth less. The Fed is a private bank run by unelected officials who are not required to be open or accountable to “we the people.” Worse, our economy and our very independence as a nation is increasingly in the hands of foreign governments such as China and Saudi Arabia, because their central banks also finance our runaway spending. We cannot continue to allow private banks, wasteful agencies, lobbyists, corporations on welfare, and governments collecting foreign aid to dictate the size of our ballooning budget. We need a new method to prioritize our spending. It’s called the Constitution of the United States. There's some info for you CONGRATS.

Posted by: revolutiongirl on Mar 3, 2008 at 12:00 PM
Issue: Debt and Taxes “The people know much better how to spend their money than the government”. Working Americans like lower taxes. So do I. Lower taxes benefit all of us, creating jobs and allowing us to make more decisions for ourselves about our lives. Whether a tax cut reduces a single mother’s payroll taxes by $40 a month or allows a business owner to save thousands in capital gains taxes and hire more employees, that tax cut is a good thing. Lower taxes allow more spending, saving, and investing which helps the economy — that means all of us. Real conservatives have always supported low taxes and low spending. But today, too many politicians and lobbyists are spending America into ruin. We are nine trillion dollars in debt as a nation. Our mounting government debt endangers the financial future of our children and grandchildren. If we don’t cut spending now, higher taxes and economic disaster will be in their future — and yours.

Have you forgotten maybe Hillary agreed to this because Bill has cousins that live in and around Sherman? Yes, second or third, but family is family. How soon you forget. Maybe the US isn't ready for a woman pres, but we can't handle the aftermath of Obama or McCain. Of the choices given on this years ballot, she seems to be the only logical one available. Give her a chance.

im sorry everyone is dogging clinton but think about what the whitehouse was when clinton was in office think about our country we know what the clintons can do they have proved it. the country was not half bad when bill clinton was in office. have any of you that are pushing for obama are mccain really paid attention to anything they say im sorry but as of yet everything they say are just words.we all know these people say things and dont back them up, but we dont know what we will be getting into with barack or mccain. im going to stick with we know what we have in clinton but dont know what we are getting with anyone else. everyone needs to do some research as i have before you make up your mind because there is a lot of negative stuff out there about these other candidates.

Sorry, but this appears to be an unpaid political commercial for Clinton no matter what issues you or she bring up. Your running this type of story when the outcome of her being elected is in question without a counter viewpoint also being run is not fairly reporting the issues. Now if she is paying you to do this that should clearly be stated in both your promos and the piece before it runs. If this story had run 6 months ago it would be more believeable as not just a political commercial. Currently it appears to just be an endorsement for a candidate as your promos have not made clear why she is appearing at this time.

Maybe she will tell us exactly how much our taxes will be going up. Be sure and lock up all of your cash and valuables. She will reach thru the tv and grab them.

OK KXII - If you give one candidate air-time then lets be fair. Ron Paul is also a candidate but the MEDIA says little/nothing about him in this race or the fact that he has raised more money from supporters without using his own or giving his campaign a loan. Ron Paul has received more financial support from the military than ANY other candidate. If people really want change then please go to www.ronpaul2008.com. Just take a look at his history as a Congressman in TX and what his platform for President is. No wonder he has so much support and so little mention in the MEDIA. He is a threat to the top three candidates according to the MEDIA which are Clinton (need I say more) Obama (who refuses to put his hand over his heart for the National Anthem and was sworn in on the Quran as Senator of Illinois)and McCain (who lied about POWs and wants a 100 year war). We need a President FOR THE PEOPLE of these United States and remembers the Constitution and what it stands for.

Just what I want to see - Hillary the Hippo on KXII. (sigh) Why don't you see if PeeWee Herman is available and get him to join the interview. Then you'd have something worth watching! Better yet, I wonder if Monica Lewinski is busy? LOL!
