DURANT, Okla. -- The two Democratic candidates for Bryan County Sheriff had their chance to speak at the Bryan County Federation of Democratic Women on Tuesday.
Incumbent Bill Sturch and challenger Roy Brown both explained why they feel they are best for the job.
Sturch served in the Unites States Navy, and was an investigator before becoming sheriff 15 years ago. He says he has experience working with a tight budget.
Brown was an Oklahoma State Trooper, served as Durant police chief for a few years, and more recently trained officers in Iraq.
"The public needs to be informed of what it is that the candidates stand for and to make a decision on how to vote," Charline Eblen ,with the Bryan County Democratic Women, said.
The Democratic Primary is slated for July.
