SHERMAN, Tex. -- A Democratic candidate for the U.S. Senate made a stop in Grayson County. Rick Noriega attended the Sherman Rotary Club meeting Tuesday afternoon as part of his campaign trail.

Noriega visited Fannin County on Monday and toured the Sam Rayburn Library. Noriega is currently a lieutenant colonel in the Army National Guard and has served with border security in Laredo and also in Afghanistan.

"It’s time now for change, and it means that I have to go out and introduce myself, build relationships and let people of the state of Texas know that I want to stand up and fight for them," Noriega said.

Noriega challenges incumbent Republican John Cornyn.
