For their great contributions we are honoring teachers who go above and beyond in the classroom. This week we head to Denison High School where Lou Chandler is this weeks Golden Apple Award winner.

For more than 30 years Lou Chandler has been teaching in classrooms across the country, from Oklahoma to Alaska and now Denison High School, Mr. Chandler has seen many places and faces.

Denison High School principal, Dr. Cavin Boettger, says Chandler steps up to the plate when his students and fellow staff need him.

As a Literature teacher, Chandler says seeing success in his students is what keeps him coming back.

Chandler says there are many teachers at Denison High School who also deserve recognition.
