Winter Weather 2008- Live blog

4:46 PM-- FM 1417 southbound is backed up to Anna...

4:32 PM -- Current road conditions from TX-DOT: http://apps.dot.state.tx.us/travel/road_conditions2.htm, Current road conditions from ODOT http://www.dps.state.ok.us/cgi-bin/weathermap.cgi

3:30 PM-This is the second snow event in a week. That is very uncommon here in Texoma. Snow accumulations have ranged from 1 inch west of I-35 to around 9 inches in Gainseville near Lake Kiowa being reported. Here at KXII-TV in Sherman we have recieved 5 to 5 1/2 inches. Snow continues to come down mainly along and east of I-35. The snow is moderate to heavy at times. Road conditions are hazardous. With temperatures expected to drop into the upper 30's and lower 20's overnight some of the slush on roadways and bridges will begin to ice if they haven't already. Most of Texoma is under a Winter Weather Warning until 6am. This means that significant snow accumulations are possible and we have already seen this. Please be very careful if you are out this afternoon and evening. If you can stay at home. --Megan Krannig, KXII-TV Meteorologist--

3:02 PM-- Virtually everywhere in Texoma is bad for driving.  Don't get out if you have rear wheel drive, you won't be able to get anywhere, it doesn't matter what type of vehicle you drive, you're going to get stuck becuase there are vehicles everywhere stalled and off the road, if you have road conditions/closures, DO NOT call the police department, they know it's bad.  Only call if you have an emergency. Bridges and overpasses are obviously the worst, STAY HOME. If you have to travel, be sure your headlights are on so you are visible on the road

2:54 PM-- School, church, and business closings continue to come into the newsroom. Check http://www.kxii.com/home/headlines/14287402.html for more.

2:42 PM -- Snowfall meaures 4.5 inches at KXII Studios in Sherman...Multiple accidents and cars stranded roadside have been reported...Areas to avoid: 1417 and 82 in Sherman, 691 and Texoma Pkwy, 691 between 75 and Texoma Pkwy

A lot of specialists state that business loans aid people to live the way they want, because they can feel free to buy needed things. Moreover, a lot of banks offer auto loan for different persons.

At 3:30 P.M. "big quarter size snow" started falling in Bailey, Texas, at 4:00 P.M. "sleet and snow" started falling. In Leonard,Texas it had very slushy roadways, speed limit was 30-35 and in Trenton, Texas lots of ice and snow, BAD!

Wow today was crazy. I didn't want to get out in it but I ended up on the streets for just over 4 hours. It took over an hour to get from Piner to Dillingham. I saw so many stranded people today. I would move a block or 2 just to find the road blocked by stuck vehicles. I would have loved the snow a lot more had I been able to stay home out of it.

according to the snow accumulations, Durant has only 3 inches, but outside my house I have more that I did in the previous snow storm. The measurements given on the forecast aren't correct. When measured an hour ago it was at 6 in.

Oh my gosh! I don't know what to think. I work in Denison, it took me 2 1/2 hours to get home to Sherman! It was horrible, cars sliding everywhere, cars not making it up hills. I'm just glad I'm finally home.

My home is Howe. You guys are really getting it down there. So far, here in Ogden, I've received over 4 feet of snow this winter. Yes, I'd rather have what you are experiencing now.
