High lake levels: Good or bad?

As the weekend approaches, most of us at least consider the lake as an option for the weekend. But, with the lake levels as high as they have been in years, there's little sand at the beaches to call your own on Lake Texoma. To many, no sand equals no fun. You don't get that "lake experience". Higher levels also make it more dangerous for everyone on the lake. I think a lot of us will steer clear of the lake until the levels recede a bit...

But, on the other hand, if you like to fish, this is a fisherman's dream! Anglers are pulling out fish like crazy all over the lake, and with traffic perhaps limited by the rising levels, the lake has remained a fisheman's paradise well into the summer boating and recreation season.

So, where do you stand? Are you bummed about the beaches or stoked over stripers?

My husband is a guide on Lake Texoma. The corp has issued a don't fish or swim alert, it is practically ruining our guide business as well as other fishing guides and marinas. We have questioned their testing methods, the times they plan on testing and how and where they test the lake. W edo not get an answer. OUr concern is that wLake Texoma is getting a ton of negative publicity and people are scared to come here. If it is so urgent and so bad WHY AREN'T THEY TSETING DAILY ( or weekly) We need some answers some closer and reassurance to kour customers that it is okay. Blue -green algae is present in the lake at all times. Stan has fished this lake for -30 plus years and although he is not the corp of engineers he is a captain and he is very lknowledgable about the lake. We need to get back out there !!
