For the first time in years, the citizens of Paris, Texas, Lamar County, Texas, and its surrounding area will have their own newscasts tonight at 6 and 10 p.m.
It's the culmination of years of hard work by the engineers, managers, and many others at KXII-TV. A few weeks ago, we launched a low power television station originating from Paris. Viewers can watch "KXIP" over the air on channels 24.1 (CBS) and 24.3 (FOX). Tonight, our Paris newscasts debut on our CBS station during News 12 at Six and News 12 at Ten.
Texas native Chelsi Smith anchors News 12 Paris weeknights at 6:00 and 10:00 p.m., and our reporter Matthew Boyd, also a Texas native, will bring home the stories that matter to Paris residents. Paris viewers will still get Texoma area news from main anchors Maureen Kane and Scott McLinden, reliable forecasts from chief meteorologist Steve LaNore, and award-winning sports coverage from David Reed and the Sports 12 Team.
We are very excited at News 12 to bring you this newscast years in the making. We hope you'll tune in and give News 12 Paris a try!
