KXII-TV is pleased to announce the station has won first place for Best Newscast, Best Morning Newscast, and Best Daytime Newscast in our division at the 2013 Texas Associated Press Broadcasters Awards Banquet this weekend in Austin. This is the first time in KXII-TV’s history that the station has taken top honors in all three categories.
“It’s always nice to be recognized by our peers for the work we’re doing. These awards are a testament to the talented, hardworking people in our newsroom,” KXII-TV news director Matt Griffin said.
In addition to these honors, KXII-TV also won 2nd place for Best Sportscast, 2nd place for Best Weathercast, honorable mention for Best Anchor Team of Maureen Kane and Scott McLinden, and 2nd place for Best Sports Story reported by Benjamin Najar.
