Of course the Rangers are getting Milton Bradley, it's the signing that makes the least sense. Another one year quick fix, probably to be traded at the deadline for a class A outfielder if everything goes right. The Rangers have little chance and even less interest in competing for the AL West this year. But it appears that they are prepared to patch together a team that will sell a few tickets into early June. That's all this signing of Bradley is. If they're not going to committ to playing the young guys like they say they are, they need to sign real free agents. Instead, the money they saved on Teixeira seems to be heading back into Tom Hicks' pocket, not on the free agent market. I would much rather see some of the young outfielders play, like David Murphy, Jason Botts, Nellie Cruz, and Julio Borbon, mixed in with guys we already have like Marlon Byrd and Frank Catalanotto. Get ready for another exciting year!
