The comparisons have been widespread between Tony Romo and Brett Favre. The two have similar "gun-slinger" mentalities, and a similar knack for creating something out of nothing. But, there is also another trait they have in common.
They both have nights where they just play awful for no reason.
That was exactly the case for Romo Sunday afternoon against the Eagles. With his supposed girlfriend Jessica Simpson in the stands (well, it was actually a luxury box) Romo proceeded to have his worst day as the Cowboys QB. He was a dismal 13-for-36 for 214 yards with 3 interceptions. All that translates into a 22.2 passer rating, his worst ever as a starter.
I just couldn't help thinking how many times over the years I've seen Brett Favre play absolutely horrible as I was watching Romo's performance. This is what you get with a guy like these 2. They will dazzle and amaze you 95% of the time with pin point throws and incredibly improvised plays. But to get all of that, you've gotta put up with a few stinkers.
Cowboy fans don't get all worked up about #9's performance today. It was just one of those days. At least is was in a game that didn't really mean anything. Hopefully it's out of his system for the rest of the season.
