T.O. Worth Every Penny

6-3-08

Let's face it.  Without Terrell Owens this Cowboys offense has very little to offer.  He makes it go.  I was dead set against bringing Owens in two years ago.  But since he's been here, he's been as close to a model citizen as any of us would have ever imagined (with the exception of that accidental overdose, of course).  Jerry Jones is sending a clear message.  He's going for it.  He wants a Super Bowl and is willing to do anything and everything to get it.  What more can a Cowboys fan ask for?

There are two players the Cowboys have to keep healthy to have a realistic chance at the Super Bowl.  1. Tony Romo  2. Terrell Owens.  If either of those two guys gets hurt, it's over.  Everyone else can be reasonably replaced.  I would hate to see Patrick Crayton and Sam Hurd line up as the starting receivers.  Let's hope for T.O. to play out those four years he signed up for, so he can earn that $34 mil.

Having said all that, the pressure is now on Wade Phillips.  If Romo and Owens do stay healthy, this team better win a playoff game, or we'll be talking about a coaching change in 2009.

So...he's NOT going to mini camp- family problems...We all have problems, but manage to do our jobs without taking off for a week- must be a vacation- or whatever excuse this time...invest in better, more reliable players, instead of throwing money and taking chances on jailbirds like PACMAN and attitudes like Owens who does just as he pleases. Wow- we're really teaching our kkids something- and now the cowboys will have the first corporate stadium- I'll just stay home and watch the Redskins!

I find it amazing that two professional football organizations failed to recognize T.O.'s greatness and let him go. I'm just a small town taxi service owner with no experience other than high school football, yet, even I know that when you have a player with the abilities T.O. has....GIVE THE MAN THE BALL!!! Thank God Jerry Jones has sense enough to realize that and pick him up! Give him what he wants and give him the football and he'll EARN what he gets paid...the man is one of the great ones, so pay him and let him do what he DOES! Go Cowboys! And to Romo...get your little young ass out there next year and win us a Super Bowl like I know you can...FOCUS BOY...you have at least 3 Super Bowls in you and I KNOW you do!!! GIVE THEM TO ME!!!

t.o., is worth every penny, he is a game breaker, and is a competitor. when does not get the ball he is a decoy, he knows this. terrel, was always looking for a home team too play for and the dallas cowboys is a good fit. he is at home now, with the greatest fans in the nfl behind him. i fully support him on and off the field. go t.o. in 2008, like he said the sky is the limit, that is how i look in life everyday, no matter what you do. and always encourage others around you. a t.o. fan for life. ou-johnny.

no way that TO is on the team for the duration of his 4 year contract. 2 years at most. with or without a super bowl. he'll be making way too much as a 38 year old player. and i guess we've seen the last of terry glenn. i never expected to see him play his whole 4 years either. soon enough the cowboys are gonna have to get a competent young receiver. no offense to hurd and crayton (though crayton can't be considered young anymore). 2008 or bust.
