Day 1 - Big 12 Media Days

The first day of the Big 12 media days was a busy one here in Kansas City.  We heard from Texas Tech, Texas A&M, Missouri, and Nebraska.  We're in Texoma, so let's focus on the 2 Texas schools.

I thought it was interesting that Mike Leach didn't bring Michael Crabtree or Stephen Harrell with him to KC.  After all, those are the two players that will likely take him to an upper tier bowl this year.  If you saw my story, you know that this is what I spent alot of the focus on.  But let's focus on this too, Tech has almost everyone back on offense.  His teammates say Crabtree can get better.  He was already the best receiver in the country last year as a freshman.  I think he's a Heisman candidate.  Tech says they'll play better defense this year (we'll see).  I think this team could end up 2nd in the South if things fall into place.  I don't see them beating OU in Norman, but they might beat Texas in Lubbock.

The Aggies rolled into Kansas City showing off their new head coach.  Mike Sherman isn't new to A&M.  I remember him being an assistant under R.C. Slocum back when I worked in College Station in the mid-90's.  The schedule killed the Aggies last year, they shouldn't have that problem this year.  As always, they play 3 of the 6 teams in the north.  They avoid Missouri, Kansas and Nebraska!  That should help Sherman get things started.  Their only tough road games are at OSU and at Texas.  They get Miami, Tech and Oklahoma at Kyle Field.  Everything else should be penciled in as a win.

Oklahoma State is up tomorrow.  Oklahoma, Texas, and Baylor are on Wednesday.  Stay tuned!

as an aggie fan i could be optimistic. as a realist, i have to admit that the aggies are gonna be bad. no bowl game this year. but if they beat texas a 3rd straight year, that won't matter.

Posted by: HornsFan14 I'd like to personally thanks the good Ags for getting rid of the only guy who could consistently beat Texas. Texas will beat the Ags this year, and all will be right again in the Great State of Texas. As for the OU game...how bout them Rangers, huh?

Mike Sherman will have the Aggies playing alot better than Fran. I say A&M will be 10-2 this year. They'll lose to Tech and OU. They'll beat Texas for the 3rd year in a row. Whoop!
