1 Week away from Football!

The high school football season is just a week away in Texas, and two weeks away in Oklahoma. We here at channel 12 have now posted our 2008 Pigskin Preview page. I was surprised to see the amount of hits our 2007 page received over the past couple of weeks. That tells me you guys are ready for the season to start. So are we!!! So what do you think Texoma? Who's going to be good this year? By the way, our Pigskin Preview Show will air on Thursday the 28th. The Friday Night Blitz and Max Blitz air the next night. Should be a fun couple of days!

Posted by: Richard I will admit that Gunter has a very good team. They are also a very young team. They have a couple of players that may develop into division one players. I think the Melissa and Gunter game will be a very good football game. This is what H/S sports is all about. Both teams Melissa and Gunter deserve to play for the district title. I wished we would have played better but that was the fault of Melissa and Gunter. We got beat by two better teams. Good-luck to both. Both schools have very good programs that are run by very good coaching staffs. That is very apparent by the actions and attitudes of the players and fans from both schools.

Tom Bean got their butts kicked tonight and I think it is so funny its about time!!!!!! They make it to the playoffs they won't make it far, they haven't had any competition the whole yr. except for Melissa

Richard my friend stay out of these blogs please. Don't humiliate yourself anymore. Honey Grove isn't that good admit it. Now the real deal is Gunter. So many area coaches didn't think Gunter was going to be any good this year, but have you seen them? They're pretty awesome and play some good football. There's no doubt that even with the loss of 30 sumthing seniors that Gunter is still one of the best teams from the region. I believe Gunter has it in them to beat Melissa and crown themselves district champions once again. But we'll just have to wait and see. I say Gunter over Melissa in a hard-fought, close game. As for everyone else in the district, we'll just plow them over like we did last year. Honey Grove get ready we're coming for ya!

This is the only place you can post brags about NE Texas Football. All of the other ares say we are the weekest area. iF YOU WANT TO SEE HOW UNTRUE THAT IS JUST DRIVE OVER TO HONEY GROVE THIS FRIDAY AND YOU CAN WITNESS WHAT FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS IS ALL ABOUT. THIS IS TWO UNDEFEATED TEAMS THAT HAVE HAD TWO VERY CLOSE HARD FOUGHT GAMES THE LAST TWO SEASONS. mY HAT IS OFF TO THE MELISSA BOYS DUE TO THE FACT THEY ARE THE BEST BEHAVED GROUP OF YOUNG MEN WE HAVE HAD COME TO OUR STADIUM AND PLAY.iF WE BEAT THEM WE CAN LAY CLAIM AS THE BEST 2A TEAM INTHE AREA. No one was suspecting The warriors to do much this. Some folks say we play in the worst 2A district in the state. I think they are all wrong. Honey Grove is going to sneak up on some folks. Watch what happens on 9/26/08. If we beat Melissa we will be the new talk of the area.

I am from oklahoma and i have seen both oklahoma and texas football teams play and texas highschool football blows oklahomas out of the water... In texas they play at a so much higher level with an exception of a few teams...Its just a totally different playing style in both states kind of like texas and oklahoma basketball

KC is right on! Class doesn't mean anything unless you have it. Cordell has it and is a heck of a coach. He turned Tish around and got them back where they are supposed to be. He is doing the same for Durant. That's what the Davis's, Ringlings and the other winning programs have. You can have a ton of talent, but if you don't know how to use it, you won't get near as far. God Bless the Cordells(Durant Lions), Webers (Davis Wolves), and Gandys(Ringling Bluedevils), and all the others that teach their kids how to grow and be hard working! And to do it with the heart of a champion!

Classes mean nothing in highschool football until you get to 6A. I played for a 2A highschool team. The Davis Wolves. I would like to see what your little football team could do against them. We used to beat 4a and 5a teams all the time. It's all about heart, and coaching. Cordell has turned Durant around, he brought confidence and structure with him when he moved here. I mean we beat Ada and Ardmore last year. What more could you ask for. It was a scrimmage with pottsboro. We had our freshman and eighth grade players in lol. Do you think he is stupid enough to play his starters in a scrimmage the whole time.

I agree with you whiney Texans. It shouldn't be all about how OU kicks everyone. There are OSU fans and Tulsa fans in this area too. Are you Longhorn fans going to be crying when OU kicks Texas again and takes the Big 12 South? If Texas wins, then you can complain about the lack of coverage. KXII knows who to cover! Leave the winning to OU and the whining to Texas. Go Durant Lions and Tishomingo Indians! Have a great year!

Overrated is probably accurate for all schools that are rated in top ten, top 20, or just to win district. At this point in the season a poll is just an opinion...much like Jason's opinion of Denison being overrated. Polls and opinions are fun, but they mean absolutely nothing.

Pottsboro is going to kick some butt and take names. Last year they lost to the state champions and they will only get better playing with the teams they have in non district like, Farmersville, Princeton, Lovejoy, Henrietta, Whitesboro.
