Oklahoma City (Yawn) Thunder

okc It was the worst kept secret in the NBA, but Oklahoma City's new team is called the Thunder. I have to admit, I liked many of your suggestions better. But the trend in the NBA is non-mascot type nicknames and non-traditional color combinations. I understand the reasoning for Clay Bennett going with blue, orange, and red. I just think it's a bad mix. No worse than the Mavs original combo of blue and green though.

I am so glad OKC is losing so bad, The team just does not sound right for the NBA. There are so many better places they could have put this team. Vegas, Kansas City, hell even seattle was a better fit. Mabye its the fact that who would ever want to visit OKC

I like George's idea about the Fruit Loops name. If that doesn't work, maybe we call them the Oklahoma City Hot Pockets? After all, a Hot Pocket and this team is worth about the same. 99 cents.

Did anyone check David Stern's knees as well? No doubt his are raw and sore too. Oh yes, and I hope the logo artist was fired! Fine work there! I could've puked a better logo.

HA HA HA. You're loser of an owner can't even put a winning team on the floor. I hope you enjoy medocrity and losing, because you'll see plenty of it. How are Clay Bennett's knees holding up? When he was in Seattle he seemed to be on his knees for most of the time. Thunder suck.

Just as soon as one of you get the coin together & purchase your own NBA franchise, you can name them whatever name you want, and give them what colors you desire. Nobody is forcing anybody here to head north on I-35 to see the Thunder play. As for the colors- the blue is from the Oklahoma flag, the red from OU, and the orange from Okie State. Now granted, somehow the colors don't match my idea of thunder, but again, this ain't my team. And don't go there with the Mavs' first logo- that was the zenith of cheesiness. The important thing is, now that Okie City hosted the Hornets when they were exiled from New Orleans for 2 years and supported them as their own, they have the chance to support their very own NBA franchise. Hopefully in a few years a new logo will come out, but for now it is what it is. So Okies, put yer money where yer mouth is and go see a Thunder game!
