Cowboys won't be as good as last year

Let's face it: the Dallas Cowboys just won't be as good as they were last year in the regular season.  13-3 was a phenominal mark a year ago, but the 'Boys needed a couple of fluke wins to make it happen.

This year, expectations are as high as they've ever been at Valley Ranch.  But, I don't think Cowboys fans should expect another 3-loss season.  I'm going with, what seems to be a popular pick, an 11-5 season for Wade Phillips' squad.  However, I think this team has the mettle to finally break the barrier and notch a couple of post season victories this time around.  I think 11-5 is good enough for Dallas to win the NFC East and earn both a home field advantage and a first round bye for the Cowboys.

This season should provide just as much excitement as last year's, but just be prepared for some of those breaks that ALL seemed to go the Cowboys' way last year, to turn the other way a couple of more times in 2008.

I'm excited for another run to, and then through the post season for the Cowboys.  My popcorn is ready.  Is yours?

Cowboys will find a way to scratch their way in just like the giants did last year..I'd rather be the underdog anyday..than the favorite..who wants to be favored to win these days --not me..I'd rather be the sneeky little varmit that bites you in the butt when your not lookin.

Posted by: Not a Cowboy Fan LOL.. on the 14-2, seems the cowboys are last in there division! Well they didn't beat the giant's so i guess they aren't on top. Maybe this bye might help out so tony's lil pinky will be better. Poor thing. Suck's having the cowboys as America's team, when they can't win!!

go cowboys. win or loose i will cheer on the boys.

uh Aaron, I think if you look at the top of the page, Mark posted this on September 4th. The Cowboys couldn't have been 4-1 on September 4th, the season hadn't even started yet.

Sorry Mark, you are wrong. You don't believe a win is a win. You must be playing fantasy football and have everyone on the dallas cowboys on your roster. They as individuals aren't putting up huge numbers, but they are winning. Anyone who understands divisional games(rivalry games) knows that you as a fan can't quit on your team about a loss. They know what is at stake and if they make mistakes, they're human. Wade is a smart guy, he's not a media guy which everyone wants him to be. Jason Garrett is not totally buddy-buddy with a kid with an arm from E. Illinois. Brian Stewart doesn't like primadonnas on his defense. You come and spit that nonsense about them not going 13-3 when they lose that 4th game, not when they are 4-1.

I havent seen anything bad about the cowboys posted yet. I think they are doing better. Wish they would of played better against the Skins though.

Ok so we are going to talk bad about the Cowboys. That is a dangerous thing to do around here. And these negative comments coming from someone who looks like he never played a down of football. Probably spent his time doing hair and interior design. That does not mean he can not understand the game. First he bashes Texas Stadium and now America's Team. Maybe he should head on back to Houston. I will help you pack!!!!

This is to the crazy man who said the cowboys were not as good as they were last year: Have You Lost It!They are better than they have been in years. This is our year, so I hope you eat your words.

Keep up the good work Cowboys, even though you didn't look to good in the first half.

It was good

i believe the cowboys are as good as last year (possibly better) but keep in mind that the eagles weren't great last year, and it's the giants that dallas needs to beat to show they are tops.

Who said they were not going to be as good as they were last year, re think that one, yes they gave up too many points, but that can be worked on. Go Cowboys.

Great Game...

I saw last night in person, and it was amazing! Were there issues, absolutely! The fumble in the end zone was a definite low point, but for the boys to be able to come back from that showed what they've got. The defense was great at teh end!

That was a phenomenal game last night.....shame on you Mark for saying they won't be as good as last year!!! That doesn't mean there aren't things they need to work on.....penalties....running game, but overall...they looked fantastic....i'm still reeling !! :)

This is insane to hear Cowboy fans talk like this....I say if the boys stay healthy 13-3 at worse but I'm looking at a 14-2 season and yes the losses will come within the division...and I'll go as far as saying we will win the Super Bowl!

Posted by: T Location: COWBOY USA
REGULAR SEASON DOES NOT MATTER, WIN WITHIN THE DIVISION AND YOU MAKE THE PLAYOFFS. WE ONLY HAVE TO WIN ONE PLAYOFF GAME TO HAVE A BETTER SEASON THAN 2007. LET'S FACE IT !!!!

Cowboys may, and I repeat may get to the playoffs, but will choke once again.

I'm not sure which 5 games you think the cowboys will lose if they will still win the NFC East. Philly and NY will be our toughest (even with Osi Umenyiora out for the season). I think we will win at least 3 of the 4 against those two (12/28 IN Philly makes me wince). I just don't know who will be able to beat us if we can keep our guys healthy. I also think we will win at least one playoff game this year, and if Romo will shut his girlfriend up (anyone see Good Morning America?) and stay in the country until February 2nd I like our chances.

Cowboys are loaded with Talent , they have a better team than what New England had last year , they stay healthy and 14 - 2 is so possible , couple losses will be from other NFC east teams

If T.O. or Romo goes down, it's over. Otherwise this team will lose to New England in the Super Bowl.
