It's no secret the Dallas Mavericks think the officials that called Saturday's Game 3 loss are to blame for their current woes.

But they're not. And the Mavericks deep down know that it's their own fault they lost the game.

Too many missed free throws down the stretch by guys (Nowitzki, Terry, Howard) who are above average at the stripe.

A complete muff on a defensive series that ended in a Carmelo Anthony dunk late in the 4th quarter.

And on the last possession that Carmelo's three pointer killed them, the Mavs failed to mention to the officials verbally beforehand that they were indeed going to take the foul they had to give, and Antoine Wright was far from demonstrative in committing the foul. He should have wrapped up Melo like he was a Broncos running back.

But I don't blame Wright. He's a young player who learned a valuable lesson. Blame Rick Carlisle for putting Wright, an inexperienced playoff player, and not his best perimeter defender, Josh Howard ,on Anthony.

And one more thing to owner Mark Cuban...

That's enough.

Your spoiled little kid antics after the game were an embarrassment (again) to all Mavericks fans. It's easy to see why the rest of the NBA smiles when the Mavs lose.

Yes, the Mavs have no one to blame but themselves. After being manhandled during the first two games, the Mavs idea of a toughened up response is to give a guy a soft shove in crunch time? However, I don't buy the young player excuse. Most HS players would know better, and the Mavs do have a coach. What do they talk about in pre-game and timeouts? The latest video game Cuban bought for them?

I think Cuban really cares about his team and yes his comment to kenyon martins mom wasnt the nicest thing to say to a mother but Ive learned from this series its completely true!!!! Dont rag on Cuban just because he shows emotion and shows that he cares about his team.. Cuban has never been an embarrassment to the mavs and he is the whole reason the mavs are even in the playoffs today without him we wouldnt have the big name players that we do now even if they are 40 years old

you sound just like jean jaques taylor. i guess you read the dallas paper too? and antoine wright isn't a young player. he's been in the league 5 seasons. 4 of those seasons in the playoffs. he made it to game 7 of the conference semi finals one year, something he won't do this year. the nuggets are just a better team than dallas. and wright is a better defender than than howard who is overrated.
