It sure looks like the battle of the axe will be for much more than bragging rights this year. Sherman and Denison are both 4-0 in district, and both have cleared perhaps their biggest hurdle in Frisco Wakeland. Is it too early to start calling this the district title game? Maybe, but don't be surprised if it ends up that way. Now for the important question... who wins the axe and the district this year? Denison was the overwhelming choice at the beginning of the season. But after what Sherman did to Wakeland last week, it kind of makes you think they've got something going now. I live in sherman root for denison. But let us not forget boyh teams have played very good this year. The biggest problem I have with denison is to listen to or watch the game you would think denison only has 4 players. At least there are only 4 names I hear over and over again. THe Battle of the Axe is going to be a great game. I think that Sherman has a chance of taking. I would like to see Denison play McKinney now since they have made some improvements this season. Sherman and Denison played for District and Axe 2004 season, Sherman has a better coach to back his players so it will be fun to watch. GO BEARCATS! Good luck Gretta! Posted by: Vale Location: Denison The ax is always exiting but Denison has good team as well as Sherman this year but have to keep in mind that sherman is going againt liberty which are doing ok and denison is going to easy teams ...so its going to be a pretty good match at the AX..I still think Denison is going to OWN it again.. Posted by: MP Sherman doesn't need to be looking ahead to Denison for a district championship game because we have 2 good teams to play b4 denison. Liberty is this week which are (3-1) in district and gave Denison a good game. and McKinney who looks like they might be pulling it all together. Dont get me wrong though cuz i know the bearcats can take care of both teams they just cannot look past them. Denison has a little easier schedule ahead of them. they play (1-3) North and (0-4) Centennial. But i do agree that the battle of the axe could be another great game either if it is for the district Championship or not. How bout them BEARCATS! |
