It sure looks like the battle of the axe will be for much more than bragging rights this year. Sherman and Denison are both 4-0 in district, and both have cleared perhaps their biggest hurdle in Frisco Wakeland. Is it too early to start calling this the district title game? Maybe, but don't be surprised if it ends up that way.

Now for the important question... who wins the axe and the district this year? Denison was the overwhelming choice at the beginning of the season. But after what Sherman did to Wakeland last week, it kind of makes you think they've got something going now. Could be another classic.
