Random Rangers thoughts

9-13-07 I thought I'd contribute a "non-football" blog, so here goes. So the Rangers have showed us all that they're not the team they were in April, and they're getting something going at the end of the season. Problem is, we've seen this act before. How do we know it's for real? Seems like three of the last four years the Rangers have ended their year giving us hope... and then we go back to another disappointing April. Maybe it's because April is the murder's row of the schedule, featuring nearly every AL West team in the month. Either way, now I'm kind of getting my hopes up that the Rangers may be good, but there's way of telling until next April. I'm glad to see Ron Washington finally getting in the groove with his team, and players like Marlon Byrd have proved that they're not flashes in the pan. Can the Rangers finish at .500 this year? Are they better than they were earlier this year, or are other teams playing worse because they're already in? I can't quite tell, but .500 would be a moral victory for this team, if nothing else. But maybe I'll hold my opinion until April 2008.
