At 5pm, on July 24th the Austin College Women's Soccer team hopped their way on over to England via a 9 hour flight. Arriving at 7am local time, 2am Dallas time, the Roos ventured through the London-Heathrow airport where we were asked several times if we were participating in the Olympics as a part of the Australian National Team. Needless to say, in our woozy states, we just agreed with most questioners and nodded in approval. After patiently waiting for our chauffeurs, Coach Burns and his brother, Sean, we rode 3 hours to Birmingham where we will be staying for the first two nights at the Ramada hotel. The Roos had a great practice at a local park, where we found it quite interesting that the trashcans were labeled with the word "Litter". Upon returning to the Ramada, we powdered our noses (we are fitting in already), and headed to the local mall where inconveniently all the stores had already closed -- Yes, at 6pm!! We went our different ways for dinner, but were all pleased to fill our stomachs with the wonderful British cuisine. Now, at 10pm, local time, we struggle to keep our eyes open as the jet lag is finally catching up to us. We hope to wake up rejuvenated and ready  to play our first international match in the Birmingham pitch at 7pm tomorrow evening. Goodnight, America.

Yours truly,

Your bloggers for the week,
