The Lady Roos woke up ready to play their second international football match this morning. After enjoying breakfast we took a four minute bus ride to the fields, where we met our competition, the Peterborough Women's team. The Lady Roos put up a good fight and held their own against these older women, even in the pouring rain. Sydney Redding scored for the Lady Roos, giving us our first international goal. Afterwards, the Peterborugh women treated us to sandwiches and cookies in their local clubhouse, where we also continued to watch Olympic events and make friends with the "Brits". Tomorrow the team travels to London where they will be seeing one more Olympic soccer game and yes, even meeting Big Ben himself. From all of us, to all of you, goodnight, America.
Yours truly,
The Austin College Women's Soccer Team.
Ps: Did you know that according to FIFA regulations, players are not allowed to say "mine" or any other vague statements when calling for the ball for fear of trickery? We found this out the hard way.
