The Dallas Cowboys are 2 games above .500. Let that sink in for a second.
Alright. That's enough. Now the Cowboys control their own destiny when it comes to making to the playoffs. In order to make the playoffs, the Cowboys have two options.
-They win their last two games.
-They beat the Redskins, and the Giants lose one of their last two games.
They Cowboys get the semi-resurgent Saints this week, and then RGIII and Redskins next week. Neither are easy wins, but considering what the Cowboys have done this year, they are entirely possible.
From the on-set of the season, these Cowboys were getting buried. The sour taste of missing the playoffs last year seemed to linger with most of the Cowboys' fans. And that taste lingered well into the season.
But take a look at the Cowboys now. They've won 5 of their last six, and four of those by single digits. They know how to win the close one. They've worked though injuries to key players like Demarco Murray, Sean Lee, and Jay Ratliff, as well as the tragedy of losing one of their own, Jerry Brown, in a drunk driving accident by another one of their own, Josh Brent. This Cowboys team has done a lot this year, and if they miss the playoffs, they miss the playoffs. I think that regardless of this teams postseason status, this season should be looked at favorably in the eyes of the Cowboy faithful.
As far as the postseason goes, I think the Cowboys make it. I think they'll slow a powerful Saints offense, and somehow find a way to stop Robert Griffin III enough to beat the Redskins. Tony Romo and Crew should be playing in January.
