TCU was ready to make a big splash in the Big 12 in their first season in the league. And a former Sherman Bearcat was ready to take center stage in the backfield, and appeared to be ready to run his way into the primary back role with the Frogs.
Waymon James worked hard to become the lead back at TCU. Sherman's all-time rushing leader led the Frogs in yards after 2 games. He was running with a purpose. But a knee injury has forced him to sit out the entire season.
I wish Waymon a speedy recovery, with the hope that he will be granted a medical red-shirt for the lost season. He does qualify since he only played 2 games. And if he decides to come back to give his junior season another go, the Big 12 should be put on notice.
