September Begins Soggy: Rainfall Roundup

Heavy rainfall over central portions of Texoma brought relief from the recent dry spell, but it was too much too fast for many spots. Although severe flooding was not reported, about an inch of water did get into some Kingston city buildings. The primary effect was lots of flooded roadways.
The maps below show some estimated rainfall amounts. I compared these to actual rain gage readings and in all cases they were very close.
Drier weather is in store Friday-Monday and it should be a fabulous weekend weather-wise.
Take Care,
Steve LaNore
Chief Meteorologist
Very heavy rainfall from Durant to Kingston: One viewer reported 7.75" near Kingston!
Amounts over Grayson County ranged from less than an inch in Tioga to 3-5" north of Pottsboro.

Fannin Co. gets a good soaking too.

I second the idea to stop the radar loop for a while so we can see what the current conditions are. Tonight that would have been really nice where we are at!

When you show radar and put it into motion would you please stop it at the current view after a couple of rotations. The continuous motion makes it hard to see where the weather is currently.
