October Rainfall: Way Below Normal

Most of us have enjoyed the pleasant fall weather of late, but things are getting drier by the day.  Texoma rainfall averages in October run from about five inches of rain east to four inches west; however, no location in Texoma reported even four inches of rain. No doubt, a few isolated spots may have gotten that much, but in general amounts ranged from one and a half to three inches.  The only spot relatively close by that received normal rainfall was McKinney.

Below is a table of rainfall recorded in October:

Ada                              2.36”

Antlers                          3.59”

Ardmore                       2.06”

Atoka                           3.08”

Coalgate                       2.84”

Davis/Sulphur               2.87”

Durant                          2.44”

Hugo                            3.81”

Marietta                        2.25”

Tishomingo                   2.35”

Bonham                        3.63”

Commerce                    1.74”

Decatur                         1.74”

Denton                          1.64”

Gainesville                     2.25”

McKinney                     5.81”

Paris                             3.26”

Sherman/Denison          1.82”

We’re starting November with more of the same. So…if it’s not going to rain, at least we can enjoy some more very nice mid-autumn weather during the next few days. I hope you get a chance to as well!
