Chilly Times Through Jan 23rd

January 17, 2008

Despite La Nina, we’re in for below normal temperatures through at least January 23rd.

A good pack of snow from Kansas northward into Canada…that we haven’t seen in several years…is helping to keep southward-moving air masses quite cold.

However, the primary influences are upper level steering winds, which continue to be from the north to northwest. Mid to late January is historically the coldest part of the winter, and I expect temperaturesto run below "normal"  for Texoma through January 23 (Wednesday).

If you don’t like the cold weather, at least you can be glad that it keeps the bugs away!

Take care; stay warm...
