Snow, and night TORNADO video...

  March 3, 2008

The snow across Texoma is a bit late, but well within what we can expect as far as records go. In fact, we’ve seen 6” of snow as late as March 29th. Hopefully that will NOT happen this year!

The same storm that brought the snow was responsible for a few tornadoes in western Oklahoma March 2. Doug Drace, one of our faithful KXII chasers, uploaded video of this nighttime tornado in Kiowa Colunty, OK to Youtube.

Check it out…you can appreciate from this clip how challenging it is to pinpoint a tornado at night…

It looks like a fairly cool week ahead with temperatures well below the average for early March.

Y’all stay warm and be safe…

I agree that snow days should be used...WHEN IT SNOWS!

I'm upset that we still had school this morning! What are snow days for? Why do we want to save them to use in April...snow usually comes only once a year around here...let the kids enjoy it while they can! I live 16 miles from my child's school...I counted 21 cars stranded on the side of the road on the way there! I don't get it.

I love the snow. By 9pm though I had seen 3 accidents on the corner where I live along with others almost hitting the curb etc from sliding.

The snow is so beautiful right now but I am crossing my fingers that this is it. I am ready for spring!! Thank you to all the storm chasers who risk their lives to keep us safe. :)
