An active jet stream pattern will dominate the period of April 7th through April 11th. Several upper trough/surface cold front combinations will make for shower/thunderstorm chances almost every day during the period. Since the Friday (April 4) cold front will not penetrate very far into the Gulf, a rich moisture supply will have little trouble returning northward to Texoma with just a day of moderate southerly winds, which are expected Monday.
Some of the expected storms will have the potential to become severe. The more intense system is expected Thursday when a sharp upper trough and stronger cold front is expected. April and May are historically the peak months for severe weather…and it looks like we’ll see a continued active pattern as we have during the past few weeks.
In the meantime…enjoy the nice weekend!
