Next Rainmaker To Watch: Thursday

April 16, 2008

An upper trough now over the inter-mountain west will work together with a Pacific frontal system to destabilize the atmosphere by Thursday (see map)…bringing our next round of potentially stormy spring weather.  The front is tending to slow down in the last few computer guidance runs...which means some potential for lcoally heavy rainfall amounts Thursday night.

The speed of the frontal passage/upper trough, and the amount of clearing Friday, will determine the daytime high for that day. Cloudy skies could keep Friday rather cool in the 60s; some sunshine would get us into the 70s.  Saturday still looks like a very nice day at this point.

Take Care,
