Cool First Weekend Of May

May 2, 2008

Another weekend of unseasonably cool air can be expected behind Friday’s cold front. A deep area of mid-level low pressure (see map) will help to generate a large area of chilly temperatures which will be pushed our way by surface high pressure.

Morning lows on Saturday, and especially Sunday morning, will dip into the 40s. It will probably not be cold enough for frost…but we will have to keep an eye on this for a few of the colder places Sunday morning.

Southerly winds return by Monday. A slow-moving upper trough may provide several days of cloudy and potentially stormy weather from Tuesday through Thursday of next week.

Take Care,

Steve LaNore
