"Amplified" Pattern Coming...UPDATE

May 15, 2008...UPDATE

Look for unseasonably cool nights through Monday. This will be the result of a highly irregular upper level flow: more typical of mid-winter than late spring.

This has been a most unusual spring in many ways, and the change this week seems to be yet another example of a continuing trend. The highly amplified (north to south) upper wind flow should drive the surface moisture well south into the Gulf.

Thus, I expect some tranquil weather from Friday, May 16 through early next week.

Take Care,

Steve LaNore

Mine isn't really a comment. What is the difference between partly cloudy and partly sunny.
