System To Watch For June 6th: UPDATE!

June 3, 2008: Update

The hot and windy weather will continue through Thursday. Rainfall, which we could use, may show up late Thursday or Friday.

The upper trough depicted above will be more or less in the position shown Thursday. It will make its closest pass to Texoma Thursday night and Friday...and this is when we'll have a chance of showers and thunderstorms.

 

This pattern looks to be somewhat similar to a pattern earlier in May that produced a large tornado in Colorado . For Texoma, severe storms may evolve with this pattern, but the higher risk would tend to be further north…just as has been the case with the past couple of systems.

Something to watch for Friday, that’s for sure.
