Fronts Bring Scattered Relief...

 July11, 2008

A fairly rare pattern continues as we move into mid-summer. Normally, a “death ridge” of high pressure aloft keeps it hot and dry from early July into mid August with the hottest weather of the year.

The pattern for the past few weeks has been one of frequent frontal intrusions moving well south of their usual positions. This has blessed Texoma with several opportunities for rainfall. While each event has been hit-and-miss, at least it’s taken the edge off the usual dry pattern.

I expect this pattern to more or less continue with a strong front Sunday and another, weaker one around July 17th or 18th. Enjoy the scattered pockets of relief…

Take Care,
