July 28, 2008: UPDATE
The scenario is taking shape as called for last week. The moisture profile in the atmosphere is on the dry side, so rainfall will be spotty and probably not very heavy. Nevertheless, the increased cloud cover should keep us below 100 degrees for Wed-Thu. A few places may get some decent rain. Overall odds are in the 10-20% range as of this writing (Monday afternoon). Be sure to read our weather discussion..on this page below the 7-Day, for more frequent updates.
========================Previous July 23 Discussion==================================
The remains of “Dolly” may have some impact on Texoma weather during the middle portion of next week.
Two of the computer models are showing the same result: the low-pressure that was once Hurricane Dolly being pushed west…then north…then east…around a large high pressure cell in the mid levels of the atmosphere.
Thus, although it’s a ways off, “Dolly” may say hello to Texoma...with some welcome rainfall…next week.
Of course, this forecast may turn out to be a dry bone; but since it’s certainly possible I wanted to share the reason to hope (for rain) with you.
Take Care,
