Heat Wave Of 2008: Final Statistics

August 5, 2008

The Heat Wave of 2008, which blasted Texoma with near-record heat for two weeks, is over. Here are the number of 100+days recorded, by city, from July 22 to August 5th, as well as the hottest temperature recorded for each during the period:

City          # of 100-degree-days          Highest Maximum Recorded

==============================================

Ada                           9                                    105

Antlers                       8                                    104

Ardmore                    7                                    105

Durant                       7                                     104

Gainesville                 5                                     102

Sherman-Denison      8                                     104

Now the good news: Triple-digit heat is not expected between now and August 14th.

Take Care,
