November Weather Report Card

NOVEMBER REPORT CARD
November 2008 continued the trend since September of much below normal precipitation, while temperatures were somewhat above average, compared to October and September. These two months were quite cool compared to average. Of course the big story is the persistent extremely dry condition.
A list of November rainfalls as a percent of average by location:

Ada
16%

Antlers
6% (Driest in Texoma)

Ardmore
14%

Atoka
46%

Bonham

Durant
53%

Gainesville
21%

Hugo
58% (tied for wettest measured location)

Madill
20%

Marietta
15%

Paris
34%

Sherman-Denison
38%

Sulphur
17%

Tishomingo
18%

Note: Average November rainfall ranges from 3.5” over western areas to about 4.25 towards Paris and Hugo.

In my Winter Outlook for 2008-2009 which I posted in mid-November, I called for below normal rain/snowfall this winter. The December pattern of the next two weeks supports a very dry start to the winter.
