Colder from Friday into Next Week
The “ups and downs” of a typical Texoma winter will continue: there will be spring-like warmth on hand Wednesday and Thursday followed by colder weather for the weekend.
The intense cold which made for severe winter conditions in the northern U.S. last week has eased and the arctic regions have been temporarily depleted of intense cold. This is likely to change by late this weekend as a new zone of frigid air takes shape.
This new arctic outbreak may be steered a bit further west by the upper level wind currents. This would bring the bulk of the arctic air over the western half of the U.S. first. It means the potential for much colder weather as we move into early next week.
While it’s far too early to speak of ice or snow, the anticipated pattern suggests it’s something to watch, but that’s all at this point.
So, it’s colder over the weekend and possibly much colder by early next week. Stay tuned as the weekend nears for updates on what early next week is looking like.
