UPDATE: 23 January 2009
My forecast philosophy for this weather cycle remains unchanged. We'll have a couple of cold fronts along with the upper level pattern pictured above...which should make for cloudy, damp weather (for a change!) from Monday night through Thursday. We'll just have to cross our fingers and say our prayers on the amounts.

Rain Chances Looking Up For Jan 26th-29th
21 January, 2009
A weather pattern that we haven’t seen in a while looks to take shape next week: one where rain may fall!
The map above shows the expected position of an upper trough/low by Monday; this places us in a favorable location to provide lifting and moisture transport towards Texoma skies.
Furthermore, the models have been consistent in moving this low eastward very near us by the middle of (next) week. This suggests even higher rain chances, with potential amounts of half an inch to an inch at that time.
As this is quite a few days away, I’ve kept the rain odds at “40%” for now. I will boost them on Friday if this scenario still looks as promising for next week.
Take Care…
