March: VERY warm so far (but turning colder)

March 2009 has been unseasonably warm so far with temperatures running about 8 degrees above average. This is even warmer than our balmy February, which was about six degrees above average.

This trend will be cut short by much colder air moving in from the north Wednesday. The cold air is likely to linger through the weekend. Even with this chill, the average numbers through March 15 will still be well above the norm.

The very good news is the fairly high chance of some soaking rainfall.
