Trouble possible later this week (severe storm threat)

The next weather threat may take the form of another round of severe spring weather late this week. We’re talking the period Thursday through Saturday with Friday the most likely target for strong or severe thunderstorms.
Much will depend on the interaction between a new upper low, which should be over Colorado or northern New Mexico by Thursday, and the surface moisture which will be in place.
This low is indicated to track a bit further north than the weekend one which bought our Easter rainfall; this could lower the risk of severe but it’s certainly too early to say.
At definitely looks to be an active week with the higher probabilities for damaging weather over the western sections of Oklahoma, northwest Texas, and perhaps northward into Kansas.
Take Care,

Tonya: Thanks for photos...this storm was a mesocyclone (rotating supercell). It only briefly produced a tornado but the rotating updraft helped it make a lot of hail that night. Some good news: after Saturday the jet stream moves northward and next week should be fairly quiet. Time to take a breath! Take Care, Steve

Looks like I will be out with my camera filming some lightning when the storm move in those nights. I posted a video of the lightning on 4-12-09 when they moved in. It wasn't that good I was in a low spot here where I live. At least their was some lightning that you could see. I posted it under the program that kxii has. It is under post a news video category. It looked like cloud to cloud lightning but Im no weather man. Looks like their could be some rather strong wind shear with this low Thursday according to the image below.I will try to get somewhere I can get some cloud to ground lighting shots. Do you think it will have more lighting then this last two storms on 4-12-09 that came through Denison Mr. LaNore. Well I hope to get some good picks. Ill be watching Kxii so do like you always do Steve. I know you will kxii weather team is the best. Thanks for all the good work you do and maybe someday before i'm 100 they will get those warning sirens up and running for Denison.
