UPDATE: 19 May 2009
Lake Texoma crested on Sunday at 629.08 feet; it has been slowly falling since then. The flood gates were opened further Tuesday and the rate of lake level change should increase as the week wears on and inflow drops.
Click on the “Lake Level” text in the upper right corner of this page for the latest level from the Army Corps of Engineers.
The lake can drop about a foot per day when inflow is low and the flood gates and power generation are running at maximum. Since there’s still some inflow expected into the weekend (but less each day), the lake will probably drop a little less than a foot per day, assuming of course the flood gates are left the same or opened further.
If it does not rain this weekend, the lake should be down into the 625’ range by Memorial Day. This is about four feet below the current level.
