Locally Heavy Downpours: Tue-Wed

A cold front will move at a steady clip through Texoma, and should pass through the entire area by Wednesday afternoon.
Locally heavy showers and storms are likely along the front.

The steady movement of this system should keep total rainfall in the 1-2" range although some spots will certainly get less than one inch.

Since the topsoil has had a chance to partially dry out since the most recent rainfall, flooding issues are expected to be fairly minor.
This rain will not be heavy enough to affect the lakes very much.

Take Care,

Steve LaNore

No tornado just a strong micro burst.

Most likely it was a downburst from a decaying thunderstorm. I looked at the radar loop and read all of the statements from the weather service and there's nothing at this point to suggest it was a tornado. We'll of course update if new information says different.

Was there a tornado in Durant area early this morning? Durant has sustained downed trees, shingles torn off, and our office building had the commercial glass front door twisted off from the concrete foundation, however, no damage to inside of building.
