24 June 2009
Things are looking up for an end to the heavy-duty heat by Sunday or Monday.
All of the computer models are coming into agreement that:
1) It will continue very hot with highs near 100 (and Heat Indexes of 105-110) through Saturday;
2) The upper ridge will shift westward and weaken Sunday and Monday;
3) Northwesterly flow will push a frontal boundary our way which may provide a higher-coverage rain event next week.
Of course, details will need to be fine-tuned, but the odds are looking up for a more typical late June/early July weather pattern by next week.
Take Care...and stay cool!
