The heat wave, which broke Sunday, will be re-building as the week wears on.
The upper high which makes the heat (sinking air) has been located further west the past few days; it will be moving back overhead by Friday/Saturday so these will likely be the hottest two days. Most Texoma locations should reach 100 both days.
The ridge is expected to weaken and allow another frontal boundary to ease southward over the Holiday weekend. Scattered showers and thunderstorms along with lower temperatures are in my forecast from Saturday night through Tuesday.
Does this mean a rainy fireworks show? Probably not; but I do have a 20% of storms for the evening of the 4th.
Happy Birthday, America!
