Heat Wave Ending Mid-Week

Intense heat will continue into mid-week, but the fire will be turned down as the strong sinking motion of an upper high is replaced by lifting along a frontal zone.  The movement of the upper high away from Texoma will open the door for this front to move in.  This high has been responsible for two batches of very hot weather this month.
The outlook through the weekend and into next week suggests a more seasonable pattern with some chance of rain on a daily basis Friday through Monday.
While rain potential is currently being forecast as 20-30%, there’s potential for this to go upward as the pattern evolves. It will depend on how thunderstorms form and move so it's uncertain where these storms may show up.
What seems quite certain is that high temperatures will fall below 100 area wide by Thursday, and remain that way into next week.
