The mild, spring-like weather which dominated Texoma since January 14th will be coming to an end over the weekend as chilly Canadian air settles in. The map above shows the expected steering wind flow and low-level temperatures for Sunday, which match well with an expected cool and dry pattern.

Bitterly cold conditions such as we saw earlier in January are not expected, but overnight lows should run in the 20s/30s with daytime highs in the 40s/50s from Sunday through Thursday. These are near the seasonal averages for late January.

Looking further ahead, the models are showing an air mass more arctic in nature moving into Texoma by Friday, Jan. 29th. The chill intensity will no doubt change, but with less snowcover to our north than with the previous blast, it will probably not be to the level of coldness we saw Jan 7-12.

Stay Warm!
