UPDATE: Thu 11 Feb 2010 / 2pm
The upper low proved stronger than expected, which pulled deeper moisture further north. It also meant more intense upward motion, all of which led to snowfalls in excess of 6” in some parts of Texoma. Storm totals will be posted in a new blog later tonight.

Roads will become very dangerous overnight as the great quantity of slush begins to freeze. Freezing fog is also possible.

 Stay warm!

Coming from a working mom's view.....I agree that school should be cancelled when the roads are bad..however why would you be sleeping in Sue? Some people still have to get up to make a living...just saying.

I can't believe that Sherman ISD has not just cancelled classes for tomorow. They build two days into their calendar for bad weather and then do not use them. I guess it will take an accident to happen in order to take the conditions seriously. They should think about the teachers having to travel as well as the students. What if they do not have enough in attendance, will they have to make up the day anyway? Let these poor kids enjoy the snow that hasn't happened in over 30 years in this accumulation. Last year they cancelled school on a day when we didn't even have any accumulation. Wake up and smell the coffee. Let the parents sleep in instead of having to wake up at the crack of dawn to watch the news to find out of any changes.
