Snow Totals, March 20-21, 2010

The March 20-21, 2010 snowfall made for a very late shot of winter beauty over much of Texoma. It was the 3rd snow of the season for most areas, the other two being Dec 24, 2009 and Feb 11, 2010.

A “dry slot” rotated into the storm circulation during the day Saturday, and this limited snow amounts in some areas. Below is a map of the totals. Other area amounts are listed below the map.

Other amounts:

Plano 8”
McKinney 8"
North Dallas 8”
Lake Kiowa (Cooke Co.) 5”
Little Elm (Denton Co.) 5”
Clayton, OK (Pushmataha Co.) 5”
Mesquite 4.5”
Celeste (Hunt Co.) 4”
Princeton (Collin Co.) 3.5”
DFW Airport 1.3” (1.2” on March 20 a new record)

wow thanks for the totals Steve. I wonder why most of Southern Oklahoma was under a winter storm warning and North Texas a winter weather advisory, when Most of North Texas Got more Snow than Most of southern Oklahoma except for Atoka. I know they are two different states that give the Warnings, just confused.
