Mostly Tranquil Mid-April Pattern

UPDATE: Mon 12 April 2010 / 5pm

I posted this blog on Friday; the weather pattern is very stable so the map and discussion are still good to go!

An upper ridge is centered over the southern U.S. west to Texas. This will work to steer incoming weather systems to our north and west.

In addition to the upper high shown on the map, a large pool of dry surface air will be moving southward from Canada and over the eastern U.S. through mid-week.

Some of the dry air associated with this high will flow over the northern Gulf, which will again work to keep rain mostly out of the forecast until later next week.

So all of this means rather tranquil spring weather with highs and lows fairly close to average.

Take Care,

Thanks to Jan for her far away hello -:) Also...to answer Chad's question, all indications point to average or even above average summer rainfall with temperatures near normal. This is based on a weakening El Nino influencing us to some degree into July. Take Care, Steve
