4th of July Holiday Weather Outlook

UPDATE: Thu 1 July 2010 / 3:45pm

No changes to my previous thinking: scattered but heavy rain pockets through the weekend. A fresh outlook will be posted Friday.

UPDATE: Wed 30 June 2010 /3:45pm

No big changes to Tuesday's reasoning: scattered showers and thunderstorms are expected each afternoon with daytime heating. The maximum chances in my current outlook are Saturday and Sunday when the deepest moisture should be present.

The Independence Day Holiday weekend is one of the biggest outdoor times of the year.  Of course we’re talking fireworks, barbecues, hanging out at the park, the lake, and so forth, as we celebrate the greatest nation on Earth!

Well, this weekend will be one to watch closely from a weather perspective. While “Alex” remains hundreds of miles south of us, the large circulation associated with it will interact with a developing surface high over the eastern United States to create a very moist inflow through Texoma skies.
UPDATE: I’m keeping the rain prospects in the 40%-50% range.
Take Care,
Steve LaNore
