A cooler, wetter pattern to end March?

A shift in the overall weather pattern promises cooler conditions with a couple of rain chances for Texoma as we wrap up March and begin April.

The first system will pass Sunday/Monday in the form of a mid-level trough and surface frontal boundary. Cooler air will provide a couple of chilly mornings Tuesday and Wednesday (see map above).

The second system (map above) is less certain, but a more southern storm track seems to be taking shape in the longer-range models. This jet position supports the notion of a mid-level trough and front bringing rain to end March and begin April. This system would likely bring a cool start to the new month.

I am so pleased to see the weather data instead of just temperatures. Thanks for explaining what is happening and how the weather elements may combine into patterns. It is why I watch; I grew up in the panhandle of Texas north of Amarillo. Weather watching was a way of life. I am a weather "nut" such that friends and family often call at all hours for a "weather report". Thanks again for helping me be accurate!
